The best time to repair gutters is before you need them most. Ahead of the rainy season and hurricane season, we can check every corner, hanger and downspout so small problems are fixed while the weather is calm. Loose hangers and weak sections are the parts most likely to fail when strong winds and heavy rain arrive.
After a storm, take a slow walk around the house once it is safe. Look for gutters that are bent, pulled away from the fascia or hanging at an angle, downspouts that have come loose, and branches resting on the roof edge. Do not climb a ladder in wet or windy conditions. Take photos and give us a call, and we will inspect the system and recommend the right repair.
We also see a lot of problems caused by water overshooting the gutter during heavy downpours. This can happen on steep roofs, tile roofs or when the gutter sits too low on the fascia. Sometimes the fix is adjusting the position or slope of the gutter. In other cases, the gutter is simply too small for the amount of water coming off the roof, and a larger size is the lasting solution.
